Carnage The Executioner
Carnage The Executioner
**Carnage The Executioner is a Minneapolis based Hip-Hop Artist: accomplished Beat Boxer, Emcee, Producer and Instructor of over 15 years. He continues to build an undeniable resumé with performances in Europe, numerous US tours, quality recordings and teaching the art of vocal percussion. Minneapolis Star Tribune said, “his mouth might be the best drummer in town” in reference to his beat box skills.**
-----
Whether he’s rapping, producing, performing, teaching kids to beatbox or working his former job as a youth counselor, it’s clear the man most commonly known as Carnage The Executioner was born to do two things: instruct and entertain. Musicians, dancers, DJ's, poets and television hosts who have worked with Carnage recognize his dedication to his craft and would confirm that he doesn’t disappoint. Ask emcees about Carnage’s skill level and you’ll find out that the phrase, "he’s your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper," actually fits.

A music fan since childhood, Carnage has filled his memory bank with thousands of references from all genres to draw from. Carnage’s start as a human beat boxer has taken on a life of its own. He now uses technology like looping and effects pedals commonly used by guitarists. He enhances the experience of a live Hip-Hop show by providing his audiences the opportunity to hear original Carnage material, as well as unique improvisations and spot-on recreations of popular songs. Carnage is also a self-trained song writer who’s skilled enough to compose a heart-felt story as easily as he can craft an intricate battle rap.

Carnage gained national fame from his past guest appearances with Eyedea & Abilities. It’s his own original songs, however, that allow his fans to connect with him the most. Songs like Addict, Save My People and The MTW Story give fans a glimpse into the real-life experiences of Carnage the human being.

Always moving forward, Carnage continues to expand his art and build the Hecatomb crew - a slew of like-minded artists who share his passion to create honest, raw Hip-Hop music. A student & fan in his humble beginnings, Carnage stays true to the culture that both helped to change and save his life.

Carnage The Executioner has shared stages with such heavyweights as Mobb Deep, KRS-ONE, The RZA, Method Man, Yelawolf, Guru of Gangstarr, Too $hort, Sage Francis, Aesop Rock, Brother Ali, R.A. The Ruggedman and Atmosphere.
Stay Tuned
Stay Tuned
In an internet age where information is coming to us at light speed, how does one bridge the gap between real life and our pixelated version? Stay Tuned to find out.

One of the few live acts to successfully marry the concept of Audio and Visual - and quite possibly the only live Hip-Hop act to do so - Stay Tuned was the most fitting name for the outfit, based initially on their love for all "sub-genres" of Hip-Hop and music as a whole, and the influence those styles have had on them. This was first reflected in the recorded music made, taking Boom-Bap, Dubstep/Electro, Hardcore, Downtempo...righteously, whatever moved them at the moment, and crafting live sets as such. Boston MC, Akrobatik
pointed out to the duo that he admired how they'd bounce around sonically in their live sets, which was also metaphoric for the ups and downs that were faced in the industry itself. The light bulb flashed. MC Mane Rok figured "Stay Tuned" would perfectly describe the musical path taken-of which grew when the live set coupled itself with the visual portion, leaving the group's then DJ-DeeJay Tense- as the program director controlling a live video
feed with his turntables. This continued to grow and began to come full circle, influencing how overall ideas and themes for albums came to fruition. The first being the fictional story of a serial killer (with an underlying theme questioning media practices) in the form of "Murder He Wrote: A Love Story."

The Stay Tuned moniker would allow the group to have interchangeable parts. Akin to the idea of channel surfing, letting them invite special guest performers, making each show unique. The channel surfing idea has now come to full bloom in
their self titled EP released 1/24/15 (simply take a listen to understand), which was also the official introduction of the groups new DJ, DJ AWHAT!! (formerly of The Pirate Signal,) and the change itself begs the listener to...well...Stay Tuned.
